Sidney Degarmo, Global EHS Director; Almatis Inc.
Sidney Degarmo is the Global Director of Environment, Health, and Safety for Almatis Inc., where he is focused on global EHS strategy and compliance, the IMPACT EHS Incident and Customer Complaint system, development of the Almatis Management System, management system audits, commercial product EHS stewardship, and REACH. He is interested in leadership, organizational development, action inquiry and action logics, system thinking, and systems development and implementation.
Mr. Degarmo began his career with Alcoa in 1988, becoming the company’s EHS Manager for Arkansas in 1996.
He graduated from the University of Missouri at St. Louis with a bachelor’s degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. He earned a Master of Science degree in Environmental Health from the University of Cincinnati, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Iowa.
